Four families gathered at Clonard Church at the weekend to celebrate their children's Confirmation in what was the first dedicated ceremony for pupils at Wexford's Educate Together Primary School.

In the past, pupils from the school had made their Confirmation but, because of the school's non-denominational ethos, pupils joined up with either Scoil Mhuire Coolcotts or Kennedy Park's events.

This year was the first year that the school's pupils had their own ceremony, in association with Clonard Church.

Pupils participating in the ceremony have been attending half-hour classes on Sunday mornings at the church, followed by Mass, as preparation for the big day.

Two boys and three girls made their Confirmation at the ceremony.
