A kids Halloween fancy dress party will take place in the community centre on Bank holiday Monday next, October 31 from 3-6 p.m. Parents are urged to help out, so if you can spare some time, please contact the Soccer schoolboys secretary, Andy on 086-4011115.
Crossabeg/Ballymurn club had no winner of last weeks Lotto jackpot, and there was one match three winner, Shane Walker. The numbers drawn were 12, 14, 24, and 28. This week's jackpot is ?8400. Congratulations to the Junior B footballers on winning the county final on Saturday week last. They defeated St. James comfortably 2-8 to 0-4. Wexford Folk Orchestra are performing a Scottish & Irish night at the Riverbank Hotel, Ferrybank on Thursday, October 27 at 8 p.m. Guest artists include Tenor James McDermott from Crossabeg. Tickets are priced at ?10 and will be available at the door.
St. Killians AC are trying to develop the senior programme this year, so whether you are a competitive runner or just use running as part of your fitness, the coaches are there to advise you. Day 1 of the Leinster cross-country championships will be held in Mullingar on Sunday next, October 30.
The first 15 in the county (in each category) will be considered for the county team, so if there is someone from St. Killians wishing to enter, please call the club secretary James on 087-6674375. Crosscountry training continues at the community field in Crossabeg every Monday and Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. Indoor training will resume in November at Crossabeg community centre.
The Friday night session will resume on November 11 (times to be confirmed) and on Saturday afternoons on November 12 from 4-5 p.m. Hurdles and High Jump training will resume at Camross hall on Tuesday (a change from last year) November 8 from 7.30 -9 p.m. and will cater for children aged 12 years and upwards. The annual general meeting of the club will take place in Kyle Forge on Monday, November 14 at 8 p.m. and parents are urged to go along and support the committee. Congratulations to two young Wexford men who excelled at the World Skills Games in London last week. The two were Paul Furlong from Glenbrien and Vinne Sullivan from Kyle, Crossabeg. Both men received medals of excellence. Vinnie , specialising in refrigeration and air conditioning, has been undertaking training for a number of weeks. They did their families and country proud.
ROWING CLUB DISCO
Ferrycarrig Rowing Club are hosting an Underage Halloween disco on Saturday next, October 29 at 8 p.m in the Wexford Boat Club. Entry fee is only ?5 for a great night of fun and entertainment. Fancy dress is optional.

On Saturday, December 3 a Coffee morning and Christmas Fare will be held in Kyle Forge. All proceeds will go to the 2012 cycle to Lourdes in aid of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. Local cyclist Annis Kehoe of Slaneylodge, Crossabeg, will once again take part in this very tough encounter and is busy getting fit and can be seen on the highways and byways of the parish and county putting in the hours training. Joe O'Brien coach tours are planning a day tour for Sunday, November 6 which will take visitors to Kilmainham Jail, the Botanical Gardens, Dundrum shopping centre and finishing off with a full dinner in the Glenview hotel in Wicklow. All-in price is just €50.

The Over the Water Vintage club had a very successful road run on Sunday last, October 16. The starting point was Screen village shortly afternoon in perfect weather conditions. 25 vintage cars of various model, design and colour was a spectacular sight to behold as they sped through the village on their way. Equally so was the convoy of 85 tractors that emerged from the Sandy lane on their way in the oppositie direction. Both merged in Blackwater village for their break before returning to Screen where some well deserved refreshments awaited them. There will be no meeting this coming Friday night for members of Crossabeg youth club as they are off to a Halloween disco. The bus will leave the community centre at 8.10 p.m. and return at 12.15 p.m. A reminder to all that they must bring the consent form and €10 with them.
