Clonard coffee morning gives pilgrims a boost
A Coffee Morning organised by a group of Clonard Church parishioners raised €1,785 for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.
The event was organised by Sara Fecko, a member of the Teach Bhríde Community at Clonard Parish, and Fr Barry Larkin, the Parish curate, with the assistance of Monsignor Denis Lennon and a group called the 'tea ladies' who gather for tea after Mass each morning. They worked alongside Sophia Hendrick and her group of volunteers to host the coffee morning in aid of Group 308, a Wexford group that is part of the Trust.
Group 308 supports older adults with special needs to travel to Lourdes on pilgrimage/holiday for a week. They travel out to Lourdes with thousands from Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, and other European countries as well as the U.S.
The groups share a wonderful fun filled week together that includes time on the prairie, a day trip up the mountains, large Masses full of music and colour, the candlelight procession, and, of course, visits to the Grotto.
Fr Larkin and everyone involved would like to thank anyone who supported the coffee morning.
