The MRI Now campaign received another boost when the staff of Permanent TSB's Wexford and Gorey branches presented them with a cheque for €3,500.

The group took part in a 50km cycle from Gorey to Wexford on the scorching June Bank Holiday Saturday recently. The group had trained for months ahead of the event but, for most, they had not been a bike for many years!

The group of cyclists expressed their thanks to all who had supported them including Floor Filler DJ Hire, Gorey Red Cross, the Regatta Shop in Gorey, Stephen Ennis and the Gorey Gardai, Martin Kirby at Wexford County Council, Derek Webb of Print Design, Paul Rossiter and Borderline, Paddy Reville Fruit and Veg, Shane Furlong Delivery Services, The Crown Bar in Wexford and all who supported them in any way.

The MRI Now campaign started in late 2016 with a revived Hospital Ball that raised over €20,000 and kick-started a dynamic fundraising campaign. This year, the Friends of Wexford General Hospital, who are running the MRI Now campaign were included as one of the charity parties for the Hope and Dream 10 in Enniscorthy.

The total funding required is €250,000.
