Drama time in the Opera House
The renowned Bridge Drama Group will bring their latest production to the National Opera House in Wexford this coming weekend.
The group will perform the award-winning farce, 'Cash On Delivery', by Michael Cooney, on Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6.
The members are currently on a major wave of recognition having qualified for the RTE All-Ireland Drama Finals which will take place in the Dean Crowe Theatre, in Athlone, on Tuesday, May 8.
What that means is that the forthcoming shows will be the groups last local performance before the big night in Athlone.
The show, an hilarious farce, has proven to be a firm favourite with audiences all over Ireland resulting in Bridge Drama Group winning the audience cup at every festival they've competed in this year.
The production, directed by Trish Doyle, also won 'Best Play' in three festivals along with numerous acting, directing, set and production awards.
It centres around the character, Eric Swan who has been defrauding the Department of Social Security (DSS) for the past two years.
After an unexpected visit from DSS Inspector Jenkins, Eric tries to extricate himself from his web of deceit and blackmails his lodger, Norman, and his uncle George, into helping him.
