Easter dog walk – for a good cause

AFTER WOLFING down Easter eggs, Wexford people are being encouraged to stretch their legs in Wexford's first dog walk.

The event is being held by the Carers Association in association with Petmania, to raise cash for Wexford's 4,825 family carers.

Starting from Petmania at Wexford Retail park at 2 p.m. on Easter Monday, April 5, dog lovers and their families are welcome to join in the fun filled day.

The top prize is a years supply of dog food from Royal Canin, and goes to the top dog who raises the most sponsorship for the Carers Association.

'Wexford carers have seen vital supports and payments cut drastically over the last year, particularly with cuts to carers allowances in the last Budget. We have had a great response with people registering for our first dog walk and would urge people to sign-up for a fun day out as well as to support local family carers,' says Marian Mahon, Centre Manager of The Carers Association, Wexford.

To register for the walk pick up an information pack in Petmania or visit www.carersireland.com.
