Fantastic turnout for Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes
850 pilgrims from all corners of Wexford travelled to Lourdes last month for the Diocese's 50th pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage was led by Bishop Denis Brennan and all four districts of the county were represented.
80 of the pilgrims were sick or infirm and stayed in the hospital there while the remaining pilgrims, 250 of whom were teenagers, stayed in hotels.
Fr Matt Boggan said the pilgrimage had been a great experience for young and old. He said that many of the people travelling were regular attendees on the pilgrimage and there was a great sense of camaraderie among the group.
'It was a very special occasion'.
