Wexford Co Council is providing free shredding of Christmas trees at a number of locations around the county from this Thursday, January 2.

Trees will be accepted for shredding from Thursday, Janury 2 to Saturday, January 11, at the council's four household recycling centres at Old Dublin Road, Enniscorthy, Gorey Business Park in Ramstown, Hewittsland, New Ross, and the Holmestown centre at Barntown outside Wexford.

Centre opening times are Tuesday to Friday 8.15 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 8.15 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Christmas tree shredding also takes place from January 2 to 11 at Redmond Park in Wexford, Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Sports and Social Centre at Ballyknockan, Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Bunclody AFC grounds, Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
