Redmond Park became a hub of physical activity recently as the second annual Pilates in the Park event attracted a large crowd, pictured here, keen to raise funds for the Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) and the South East Radiotherapy Trust (SERT).

Organised by physiotherapists Valerie Redmond and Tricia Murphy of Castlebridge Physiotherapy and Orthotic Clinic, the event was well attended by men, women and kids, all of whom enjoyed the morning.

Pilates is about developing strength and flexibility with control and is an effective all-round workout, as well as being fun!

Tricia led the various exercises and ensured that everyone was giving 100% to the task! While the event has, thus far, been an annual one, there were some suggestions that it become a regular Sunday morning event in the park.

The organisers expressed their thanks to Wexford County Council for their help in organising the event, as well as thanking all those who had come along to take part.

The event raised over €2,000 for the two charities and Tricia and Valerie are already looking forward to next year's event!
