Gang gets shaved for charity
MORE than €2,000 was raised for the Irish Cancer Society by a group of civic-minded folk during a sponsored shave and leg wax at Freddie's Bar in Screen.
Leigh Breslin said she organised the event in the memory of family members who had died from cancer over the past couple of years.
Getting shaved on the night were Leigh, David Rossiter, Aaron Rossiter and Jordan Rossiter, and getting waxed were Tony O'Leary and Garry Greslin.
'We had some family members who died from cancer so we decided to do our bit,' said Leigh. 'We had a full house on the night.'
As well as the Irish Cancer Society benefiting, the locks were sent to the Princess Trust for use in wigs.
