We would like to thank all those who sold tickets and attended the Dog night Fundraiser in the Enniscorthy greyhound track on Thurs last 4th Oct. A great evening was had by all. The rain did not dampen the spirit, and the fun , had by the beavers, cubs, scouts and leaders.

Even though the average race on the night only took 30 seconds to complete, the scouts raised the roof each time cheering their dog over the line. The face painting was very popular, with lots of scary characters buzzing around the place . The highlight of the evening was the group photo of all the scouts with a champion greyhound on the dog track.

A special thanks has to go to Matty Flynn, Jenna Sludds, Rosie Kelly, Anne Croke, and Jenny Murphy for the trojan work, and to all those who worked very hard to make it such a fantastic night. Thanks again to all the businesses who advertized in the race booklet, A particular thanks to the teaching staff of the Holy Family School (past and present).

The community of Glenbrien would like to extend their sympathy to the family, friends and relations of the the late Maggie Murphy R.I.P. who passed away recently..

The eagerly and much needed community centre in the old school house in Glenbrien is nearing completion with a final push from the committee and the volunteers towards the grand celebratory opening in mid November. With funds drying up at the moment, the total cost of fixture and fittings for the completed project are proving to be a problem leading to the shortfall in purchasing chairs for the facility.

The committee is therefore launching the "Sponsor a Chair" campaign in the hope that parishioners may see their way to making a donation for chairs. Appropriate second hand stacking chairs have been sourced at a cost of €27 each (approximately) Sponsorship cards will shortly be in circulation and your generosity would be greatly appreciated in completing the project.Futher information is available from Billy Quirke, Aiden Quirke, and Mary Halligan.

The Glenbrien community development group meeting will take place in the Holy Family School in Glenbrien on Thursday 25th October at 8pm all members are asked to try and attend this meeting.
