BARNTOWN YOUTH CLUB
Youth Club finished up for the summer last Friday when the gang headed off to the Taghmon for the end of year Disco. A great time was had by all - especially the supervisors - who have been looking forward to the event for some time now! Many thanks to the parents who have volunteered their time on Friday nights during the past year and also to our committee members, who are there week in and week out, and whom without our Youth Club would not be possible.
KILLURIN ROWING CLUB
Training has now commenced for Junior members every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7 pm. Senior Training is Monday and Wednesday nights at 7 pm also. Whether you have rowed before, or are a complete novice, why not take a trip to Killurin Quay on any of the listed nights. New members are more than welcome, and with Killurin able to boast the best facilities for a rowing club, it makes for a very enjoyable evening.
Please note that some Senior Members will be undertaking a course in Code of Ethics for Children in Sport. As a result of this training, a code of ethics and conduct will be handed out to all members in the coming weeks. We are also asking that any trophies won in the 2010 season be returned to Sinead as soon as possible for engraving.
We are organising a soccer club which we intend to have up and running for the 2011/2012 season. For the first year we will be concentrating on the under 9 age group. This will include girls and boys born in 2003 and 2004. The club will have to be approved by the Wexford & District Schoolboys League.
In order to gain approval, we will need to submit a list of children who may be interested in joining the club. Should your child be interested in joining Glynn/Barntown AFC there are forms available in both Glynn and Barntown schools. Alternatively, you can forward your child's details immediately, (name, address, date of birth, and contact number for parent/guardian) to firstname.lastname@example.org. or contact either Martin Brazill on 087 9691433 or Joe Wogan on 087 2908 530.

St. Annes Troop, Barntown, headed off to Mount Mellery for a camp on Friday 6th June, together with Brigins from all over the County. The week-end was packed with action - the youngsters practised on zip wires, went on climbing walls, tried out on the shooting range, had pamper parties and lots of other fun activities.
The highlight of the weekend had to be when Dungarvan Fire Brigade arrived and gave a fire safety talk and then allowed the children to use their heat-seeking equipment which was amazing. They finished off by giving the water hoses to the kids - great craic was had and nobody remained dry! There will be no Brigin meeting tonight (Wednesday) due to a Leader's council meeting.
Anybody interested in the Brigin Fun Day in J.F.K. Park on 11th June, please contact Eithne as soon as possible.
