Glynn/Barntown GAA Club are hosting their annual Summer BBQ this Friday, 17th June. With music for the fabulous Blue Moose, a bucking bronco and a burger for €15, its bound to be a great night!! Tickets are almost sold out, so make sure you don't miss out! Tickets are on sale from Whites.


Good luck to the u 12 green and blue teams who play their first round of the championship on this evening, Wednesday 15th June. The green team will play St.Ibars at 6.30pm in the Ibars pitch while the blue team take on Cloughban at 6.30pm in Cloughban.

Exam wishes: Best wishes to all the camogie players who are doing their leaving and junior cert.

Bon Voyage: It was a sad day for the Senior camogie team last Wednesday when one of their star players, Róisin Doyle, departed for San Francisco for the summer. We just hope she brought the hurl with her!

Disco: A disco for 1st year and up will take place tomorrow night Thursday 16th June from 8.30pm - 11.00pm in Glynn Barntown G.A.A. pitch. Admission €5. All welcome.


Congratulations are extended to local authors Jim McGovern and John Wickham, who have just had their book, 'The Gallant Boys and Girls of Glynn Barntown' accepted after a rigorous and thorough process by the famous Eason Book Shop, Dublin, for national distribution. It is great to see this excellent and unique local book reaching a wider readership.


Tonight, Wednesday 15th June will be our last Brigin meeting for the season, so we are having a Teddy Bears Picnic from 7 - 8.30 pm. The girls just need to bring Teddies. Anyone who hasn't already done 'Bakers Badge' pleas bring 6 buns and biscuits they have made themselves to share. Parents meeting at 8 pm to discuss plans for next year.


Choir: Just a reminder that the school choir concert will take place in the church next Wednesday 22nd June. Tickets can now be purchased from the school.

End of year mass: End of year mass and graduation for 6th classes takes place on 28th June at 11 am. This will be followed by the traditional tree planting in the school grounds.


Fun Walk: Winners of the recent Fun Walk Fancy Dress organised by the Parents Association received their prizes on Monday last. Well done to Jnr Infants and Ms. Morris who took 1st place, to Ms. McGillycuddy's 2nd class on claiming 2nd place and to Mr. Quirke's 4th class who were 3rd. Please return any sponsorship cards to the school as soon as possible.

Fun Day: the annual Fun Day is scheduled to take place on June 29th and preparations are now in full swing. Anybody who is available to help on the day please contact Ann Deacon on 086 8263054 or any members of the parent's association.
