KILMORE

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Can you spare a few hours? Volunteers needed for food preparation and serving of seafood during the Seafood Festival from July 5th to the 8th. You may put your name on the rota in the Coffee Shop in Stella Maris Centre or Contact Catherine Jeffers 086 1508498 or Margaret Nunn 087 985 2439

BRIDGETOWN HANDBALL

The Juvenile handball semi-finals were played recently and there were mixed fortunes for our players. Liam Shannon qualified for the U16 final with a 2-0 win over James Kelly from Templeudigan. He will now play Brian Kehoe from Castlebridge who beat Aaron Wright Power 2-0. At U15 level Stevie Lawlor went down to Oisin Foley from Castlebridge 2-0. We have an all Bridgetown final in the U16 B final between Stephen Greene and Jack Roche, who came out on top of the league format which also included Ryan Bates.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Following the very enjoyable day trip to the Botanic gardens, Glasnevin cemetery and lunch in the Glenview hotel on June 13th, Kilmore ARA have finalised the rest of their summer programme of activity which is as follows:

Friday July 6th - Lecture "the Nemestown shore heritage trail" by Jim Hurley at Hotel Saltees at 8pm.; Saturday July 7th - Nature walk Kilmore Quay to St. Patricks bridge meeting at 5.30pm at the Marina. Both these events in conjunction and courtesy of Kilmore Quay Sea Food Festival; Thursday July 19th - day trip to Mount Congreve gardens in Kilmeaden followed by trip on the Waterford and Suir Valley railway and concluding with lunch in the Holy Cross restaurant; Saturday August 11th - historical tour, starting in Mayglass at 2pm then to Tomhaggard and finishing in Tacumshane with Brian Matthews. August 17th to 19th Holiday to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Booking for holiday to Breda 086-3258386.

80TH BIRTHDAY

Congratulations to that gentleman from Mooretown the one and only Paddy Casey who celebrated his 80th birthday last week. We wish Paddy many more happy years.

95TH BIRTHDAY

Tomorrow Thursday the popular and well known lady from Kilmore Quay, Mrs Una Connick will celebrate her 95th birthday, so congratulations to her on this special occassion and heres to many more.

BABY GIRL

Congratulations to Debbra and Barry Wright, Soughane on the birth of a baby girl recently.

The All Blacks Lotto was not won on Monday June 18th in Bridies in Bridgetown; numbers were 9,17,18,29. There were no match 3 winner. Jackpot was €11,700.

Kilmore United's Lotto was not won on Monday June 18th in Quigleys Lounge; numbers were 4,22,23,26. There were 2 match 3 winners, Joe Reddy and Anthony Mernagh. The Jackpot was €5,250.

The Kilmore Community Lotto was not won on Tuesday June 19th in The GAA Clubrooms; numbers were 4,14,23,24. There was no match 3 winner. The Jackpot was €6,000.

BLESSING OF BOATS

The blessing of boats will take place during a Prayer Service on Kilmore Quay on Friday, June 29th at 6pm. All are welcome to join with the local community.

PATRON IN GRANGE

The annual Patron takes place in Grange Cemetery on Friday, June 29th at 8pm. Please note the change of time.
