Well done to Kilmore schoolgirls who have reached the semi final of the Roinn 1 Rackard league which will be played in Taghmon on Monday 22 at 3.30pm and their opponents will be Horeswood.

Our annual presentation night will take place in The Hide Out, Tomhaggard on Friday November 2nd at 7.30pm and all players from u10 upwards are invited to come along.


Ballycogley are back in St. Michael 'sSVDP Hall, opposite the CBS on 25-27 October with their annual One Act Comedy Plays. Tickets are €10, available at the door.


The time is approaching fast for our Annual Art Exhibition which is taking place from Saturday October 27 to Monday October 29 in Murrintown Community Centre. If you are interested in submitting any paintings contact Caroline on 0872480511 or Tina on 0861674809.


Kilmore Variety Group are seeking lots of new members for this years' show both male and female. This is a great community organisation and a great way to meet new people. Perhaps you have some great ideas for new scenes and comedy. Maybe you took part in shows many years ago and would like to get back involved. We are always looking for boys/men in our shows and this year is no different. We want to see you!

Rehearsals and Enrolement for Teenagers will commence on Tuesday October 23 from 7:30 to 9 and Young Adults at 8.30 in the Stella Maris Centre. (note change in date).

Rehearsals for All Adults will commence on Thursday October 25 at 8:30 pm in the Stella Maris Centre.

Rehearsals and Enrolement for Children will commence on Sunday November 4 from 1 - 2 pm in the Stella Maris Centre. (note change in time).

Registration: The registration fee this year is €20 for Adults and €15 for Children. For a family of 3 or more taking part the fee is €40. This fee must be paid on the first day of rehearsals.


Our monthly meeting was held on Wednesday, October 3. Hostesses for the evening were Monica Connick and Eileen Carty. Raffle tickets were distributed to members to sell. The proceeds of this raffle will go towards the annual seniors' party. As the Hotel Saltees has closed, the venue this year will be the Danby Lodge, on the 9th December.

The Raffle was won by Barbara McCranaghan, who also gave us a demonstration of Tai Chi. Tai Chi classes continue every Tuesday in the Stella Maris centre.

The Patchwork workshops will continue on Wednesday mornings, twice monthly. The meeting was adjourned with a rendering of 'My Land'.


A hallowen Charity Fancy Dress in aid of Irelands Support Group for Teenages with Cancer on Bank Holiday Sunday 28th October in Quigleys Kilmore Village. There will be Spots,prizes on the night,prize for best dressed ,best couple and most original.Music by Point Blank.Admission is free. Your support would be very much appreciated for this worthy cause.


Only one of the mens teams in action on Sunday last and the first team made a welcome return to winning ways with a fine 2-1 home defeat of Stoney Rovers. John Codd put the 'Blacks in front from close range after 10 minutes but Jamie O'Grady restored parity before half-time. A fine John Mernagh pass played in Robert Dempsey to fire the 'Blacks back in front and they can thank goalkeeper Gary Lynch for securing all three points as he made two excellent late saves. Training continues Wednesday at 8pm. Congratulations to St Fintans on their county final victory.


Bridgetown Handball Club is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 7 November in Bridgetown Vocational College at 8pm. All are welcome.


Kilmore National School Parents Association presents a halloween Party for children in Kilmore N.S. Junior Infants - 3rd Class inclusive. Friday 26th October 2012, 6.30pm- 8.30pm in Stella Maris Centre, Kilmore Quay. Dress to impress in your weirdest, creepiest costumes. Magic Show, Disco, Spot Prizes and lots more. Entrance fee: €2 per child (incl. drink and snack). Cafe will be open for parents. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must remain on the premises during the event.
