AS PART OF the National Day of Volunteering, Volunteer Ireland has organised a nationwide Knit-a-Thon. This is a chance for Wexford knitters to get involved.
The organisers are looking for knitters to spare an hour of their time for a good cause. The event will take place on Friday, September 30, between 11 a.m. and 12 noon.
Below is a list of venues in Wexford that have kindly agreed to accommodate knitters on the day. Please be aware that some venues have limited space. If you're planning to knit as part of a large group, please choose a venue that can accommodate the group.
Bean 'n' Berry, *Limited Space; Castleview Heights Restaurant, Our Lady's Island; Harvest Fare, Ardcavan; Riverbank House Hotel; Stitched Up *Limited Space; Talbot Hotel *Limited Space; The Centenary Stores; The Star Bakery; White's Hotel; Whitford House Hotel.
The Guinness world record for the goal of 'most people knitting simultaneously' is 1,147. The organisers are hoping to blow that record out of the water on September 30th. For further information and to register your name, please contact: Stitched Up, 3 Barrack St., Wexford or call 053 9121041
