Knitwits' clothes will ensure tots are nicely warmed up for winter
A WARM WINTER 'geansaí' and baby bonnets are just some of the projects which the Coolcotts ' knitwits' are busy plugging away at.
A group of local women have formed the knitting group which meet at the Coolcotts Community Centre every Monday morning.
The ladies are self-taught. The ethos of the group is for the members to help one another along in developing their needlework skills.
Those with no experience of the craft are also encouraged to get involved.
Geraldine Conway of the Coolcotts Community Centre commented on how the group is proving to be a popular with local ladies.
Despite being established in just recent weeks, it has welcomed to the fold almost 15 women from the locality and further afield.
Many of the ladies are knitting items of clothing for family or friends but it is though that perhaps the fruit of their labour may culminate in a sale of work at some point in the future.
Anyone who wishes to get involved can drop by between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on Monday or contact Geraldine on 053-9163831.
