Wexford Borough District Council has applied for funding to erect a pedestrian crossing at the new Loreto secondary school in Killeens.

Executive Engineer Sean Kavanagh told a meeting that the crossing should be in place by end of next year. Parents raised concerns about safety when the school opened last September.

'Hopefully, we will be looking at this at the end of 2019', he said, adding that the Council is examining 'an appropriate crossing and an appropriate location'.
