A novel fundraiser resulted in a cheque for €380 being handed over to mental health charity It's Good 2 Talk last week.

The staff and management at Tesco Wexford kindly donated the proceeds of funds raised from a Memory Tree that was set up on their premises on Distillery Road over the Christmas period. The Tree saw many people from the community post messages and prayers in memory of family or friends who have died, a tradition that Tesco hope will become an annual one.

Chairperson of It's Good 2 Talk, Madeline Quirke was extremely grateful to everyone involved at Tesco.

'We are always striving to become a stronger entity and to work collaboratively and co-operatively in order to raise our profile,' she said.

'To see our organisation develop and become more relevant to those in need is first and foremost on our minds.'

Manager at Tesco Wexford Graham Dempsey said they were happy to do their bit.

'Tesco staff were all delighted to have the opportunity to support such a worthy charity,' he said.

'The work you do is appreciated by everybody and it was a pleasure for us to collect on your behalf.'
