Monart resort hosts fashion show in aid of Special Olympics

FASHIONISTAS will be flocking to Monart tomorrow ( Wednesday) for a very exclusive fashion show in aid of Special Olympics.

Renowned Irish fashion designer Louise Kennedy will showcase her designs during the fashion show which is being held in association with Westgate Design and Monart.

The fashion show and lunch is sure to be a big hit with fashion lovers looking for tips on what's hot and what's not for the winter months.

Louise Kennedy said her Autumn Winter collection 'is an ode to antiquity and dark romance and this design interpretation can be seen through this season's collection. We have introduced a stylish new contour with the introduction of the 'Kiki' dress, crafted in silk jersey, this is both fluid and form fitting and it is one of the key pieces amongst our dress selections this season.'

For those wondering what colours are hot this season Louise said 'jewel tones are very strong this season with deep sapphire, soft magenta and rich burgundy's all making very strong appearances throughout the collection. Burgundy in particular was one of the ontrend colours this season.

'Baroque was a key word for us this autumn winter also, giving a rich opulence to traditional black and gold colour hues also feature strongly.'

Louise was fulsome in her praise of Monart's location saying 'it's one of the most special locations to host a fashion show with its stunning natural catwalk. Last year the atmosphere was electric and everyone who attended so enjoyed such intimate surrounds and the delicious lunch provided by the team at Monart.'

The fundraiser for the Special Olympics was one that Louise said she was delighted to get involved with.

The event will kick off with a champagne reception at 12.30pm.

Followed by the fashion show at 1pm, lunch will be served straight after the show. The cost of this very special day is € 100 per person.

Tickets can be bought in Monart (05392-38999) and Westgate Design (05391-23787).
