Sunday 15 September 2019

The match that the whole parish, and indeed the whole county, has been waiting for will finally go ahead on next Sunday 30th January in Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow when Oulart-The Ballagh senior hurlers take on the Kilkenny champions, O'Loughlin Gaels, in the Leinster club-championship hurling final. Throw-in time is 2pm.

Supporters are encouraged to make the stands a sea of Red-and-Black and to be extra vocal in support of our club representatives as they endeavour to win a first provincial title. Please dress yourself and your children in as much of the club colours as you can and if you don't have the jerseys, jackets, hats, headbands or flags do try and borrow them from families that have ample supplies.

If your finances can stretch that far you can also buy club gear from Tommy Davitt, Kilbride, The Ballagh

Oulart-The Ballagh G.A.A. "Super Draw" that was postponed because of the snow will now take place on Friday 4th February, two days before the Senior Camogie team play in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Parishioners and people from the surrounding areas have been most generous in their response to the ticket sellers and, in spite of the recession, have welcomed the opportunity to support the club in its endeavours on and off the playing fields.

Anyone who was given tickets to sell and has not yet returned them to the club is asked to return them, sold or unsold, to any club officer, committee member or draw promoter as soon as possible. The draw will be held in Oulart Community Centre and all supporters and parishioners are invited to attend.

Refreshments will be served so please come along and be present for the drawing of the winning tickets and the announcement of the names of the winners.

Lady Luck has been smiling on our Lotto participants recently, with jackpot winners emerging from the last two draws! Congratulations to Dennis and David Morton who won the Lotto Jackpot on 4th January and to Claire Whelan, Blackwater who was the lucky winner of the Jackpot on Tuesday 19th January. The next Club lotto will be held on Tuesday 1st February. Don't forget to enter as perhaps three-in-a row beckons for some lucky punter.
