Oulart

EASTER CEREMONIES: Holy Week Ceremonies in Oulart were very well attended with full participation by the laity. New Ministers of the Eucharist, Mary Mcdevitt, Patsy Stafford, Colin Cooney, Eileen Mcgrath, Theresa Sinnott, Breda Jacob, Linda Masterson, Marcella Davis and Mairead Mcauliffe were commissioned on Holy Thursday.



A new departure this year was an outdoor celebration of The Way of the Cross on Good Friday. The route taken was from St. Patrick's Church up to Tulach a'tsolais with prayers and readings at each stop. Declan Roche carried the crucifix while the fourteen readings were done by children and adults.

MONTH'S MIND

The Month's Mind Mass for the late Tommy "Barney" Leacy will be held in St. Patrick's Church, Oulart on Saturday 21st April at 8pm.

TIDY TOWNS

The Cake Sale held over the Easter weekend was a resounding success with €393 raised in aid of the local Tidy Towns Committee.

The organisers would like to thank all who baked, all who gave donations and those who sponsored the raffle prizes. A special word of thanks to all who attended the sale and bought the cakes and breads as well as raffle tickets.

Prizewinners were: Christine Smith, Breda Jacob (x 2), Tina Roche, Mick Murphy, James Davis, Geraldine Kelly, Daire Swords and Breda Sinnott. The winner of the Ornamental Tree (sponsored by John Joe Hyland) was Sheila Mythen.

VILLAGE SPRING CLEAN

Scoil Mochua are teaming up with Oulart Tidy Towns Committee for the Annual Spring Clean on Wednesday 18th April, from 11.10am till 12.20pm. Everyone is welcome to join in and lend a hand.

ACTIVE RETIRED

The Oulart Group are off to Inistioge, Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh and Thomastown on Thursday 19th April. The bus will leave the Church car park at 9.30pm sharp.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The County Wexford Community Games Swimming Finals has been changed to Sunday 22nd April at 10am. Please note that all four strokes are now in the under 14 girls and under 14 boys. For further information contact Secretary Aidan Boyce.
