Congratulations to Oulart-The Ballagh senior hurlers on winning their four-in-arow of Wexford Co. Championships on Sunday October 14, in Wexford Park. They defeated Faythe Harriers on a scoreline of 2 goals 12 points to 13 points.


The 'Big Draw' was held in Bob's Bar, The Ballagh on the Monday after the Co. Final and local woman, Geraldine Sutton, Ballytarsna, was the winner of the first prize of €2,500. The second prize of €500 was won by Patrick O'Connor, Blackwater while B&B O'Neill, Ballindoney, Ballywilliam won €250.


Congratulations to Ursula Jacob and Karen Atkinson on being nominated for camogie All-Stars that will be announced on 3rd November. If there is anyone in the parish who would like to attend the AllStar Presentation and Banquet in the City West Hotel they should contact Ursula or Karen to get details of booking etc.


The organisers of the Benefit Night, in Marty's, in aid of Christmas Lights for the Village, wish to thank everyone who helped to make the event so successful. Thanks to all who bought or sold tickets, sponsored prizes and to all who entertained on the night.


Scoil Mochua's Parents' Association will hold their annual Halloween School Disco on Friday 26thOctober, in Oulart Community Centre, from 7pm-9pm.There will be prizes for the best Fancy Dress costume and a raffle for hampers full of goodies. All age-groups are welcome and the Disco will be strictly supervised by members of the Parents' Association.


David O Grady, Order of Malta, will give a talk on General Health Matters on Wednesday October 24, in Oulart Community Centre, beginning at 7.30pm.

Suir Bowling section of the Active Retirement Association will be visiting Oulart on October 23 at 2pm. Refreshments will be served.

Please note that the Annual General Meeting of Oulart and District Active Retired will be held on Thursday November 8 in Oulart Community Centre. New members are always welcome.


The local committee wishes to thank everyone who subscribed to the recent Church gate collection which yielded €282. The Committee also appreciates all who helped keep the village litter-free during the summer months and hopes that the effort will be continued into the future.


The G.A.A. talent competitions for young people under 17 years of age are organised at district and county level, with the winners advancing to the provincial and All-Ireland series. This year, competitors from clubs in the Enniscorthy and Gorey districts will compete in the county semi-final on Saturday night, November, 24 in Oulart Community Centre, beginning at 7.30pm. Clubs from the Wexford and New Ross districts will compete in Carrig-on-Bannow on the previous night, 23rd November, at 730pm.

The Co. Final of Scorn a nOg will take place in Oulart on Saturday December 1 and the county winners will advance to compete in the Leinster semi-final in mid December.

The 8 Scor categories are: Solo singing, ballad group, Figure dancing, Set dancing, Recitation, Quiz, Novelty Act, Instrumental Music Group. Dancers wishing to take part in the Figure Dancing should note that the Cross Reel, Trip to the Cottage and Eight-Hand Jig are prohibited this year while in the Set Dancing category the following are not allowed.
