Oylegate field day kicks off

The annual field day will be held at Oylegate/Glenbrien GAA grounds on Monday August 6th -all the usual attractions and plenty of fun for all the family, your support would be appreciated.



GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €9,200 held in The Slaney Inn Oylegate on Wednesday July 18th. The next draw will be held on Wednesday August 1st in Mernagh's Lounge, Oylegate for a jackpot of €9,400. Tickets cost just €2 each available from club members.

TRAD FEST

Many thanks to anyone who helped or was involved with the tradfest, all the workers, supporters, and musicians who turned out and made it such an enjoyable weekend.

ZUMBA CLASSES

Zumba class every Tuesday at 8pm9pm in Oylegate Community Center. Cost is €8 per class or every 4 classes get one free. Pay as you go. Come on down, ditch the work out and join the party. Contact Licensed Zumba Instructor: Theresa McGuinness at 0851479882.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Oylegate glenbrien ladies gaelic football club under 10s played the Crossabeg on the 17th, the mammies played in Carlow on the 18th and both teams played with spirit and flair. Thanks to Carlow for their hospitality.

Our under 14s are played St Mary's on the 21st. Training for everyone is on Tuesday from 7 to 8.00pm at glenbrien national school, all welcome cost is €2.

We have a fundraising bake sale in Glenbrien after mass on Saturday July 28th.

Well done to Jade Clarke who played for Wexford in Carlow last Sunday. Fund Raiser: Texas Holdem: A Texas holdem poker classic in aid of the old school restoration will take place on Sunday August 5th in Mernagh's, Oylegate starting time 6.30p.m. entry €10. All are welcome to come along and support the evening.

TEXT ALERT SCHEME

Oylegate Community Text Alert Scheme is currently being set up to provide an awareness of any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area by getting the community working together, along with the Gardaí. The aim is to have these incidents monitored in a bid to reduce crime in our area. Members of the committee will visit each house in the parish over the next few weeks to explain how the system works and register the names and mobile numbers of those who are interested in joining the scheme.

CAMOGIE

Congratulations to the Oylegate/Glenbrien under12 Camogie girls who are through to the final of the Mary Heffernan cup to be played on August 4th, venue to be decided.

Camogie Training Times: U8s & U10s: Tuesday from 5.30 - 6.30p.m. U12s: Monday and Friday from 6.00 - 7.00 p.m. U14s: Monday from 6.30 - 7.30p.m. and Friday from 6.00 - 7.00 p.m. U18s: Monday and Friday from 7.00 - 8.00 p.m. Juniors: Monday and Friday from 7.00 - 8.00 p.m. Intermediate: Friday from 7.008.00 p.m. and 4.00 to 5.00pm on Sunday afternoons.
