There will be youth club in Oylegate Hall on this Friday evening, April 2, from 8pm to 10pm and the supervisors for the evening are Siobhain Nolan, Tony White, Johnjo Murphy, and Caroline Kinsella.


Mass Times in Oylegate and Glenbrien for Holy Week are as follows: on Holy Thursday Mass will be at 7pm in Oylegate and at 8pm in Glenbrien; on Good Friday ceremonies will be at 2.30pm in Oylegate and at 4pm in Glenbrien; on Holy Saturday Vigil Mass will be at 7.30pm in Glenbrien and at 9pm in Oylegate; and on Easter Sunday Mass will be at 9am and 11am in Glenbrien and at 10am in Oylegate.


Hard luck to the senior hurlers who were defeated by Mooncoin at the weekend. Well done to the two junior hurler teams, the 1st junior hurling team defeated the Shamrocks while the second team had a win over Rosslare. A coffee morning in aid of charity was held on Thursday last, March 24, in Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate, a great crowd turn out and supported the morning.


Glenbrien parish draw for the month of March was held on Sunday last, March 28. The lucky winners were ¤140 to Tony and Geraldine White, and ¤35 each to Marian and David Dowling, John Doran, Eoghan Wall, and Lar Lambert Munroe.

At a meeting to form a handball club held on Tuesday, March 23, in Glenbrien NS, the following committee was elected: President - Patrick Nolan, chairman - Seamus Heffernan, Secretary - Padraig O'Connor, Treasurer - Billy Mernagh and committee members Billy Quirke, Brendan Doyle, Pat McDonald, John Quirke, Myles Heffernan, Niall O.Byrne, Tomas Stamp, Cathal Mernagh, Rory Sludds, Enda Sludds Jim Doran, Davy Phillips, Liam Butler and Padraig Doran.

To raise funds, it was decided to sell five years membership for the cost of four years. The current rate is ¤50 per year, so for a total of ¤200, paid in instalments of no less than ¤5 over two years approx, participants will get five years membership form the time the alley opens.


A table quiz will be held in Glenbrien NS on Good Friday at 8.45pm. Table of four ¤20. Proceeds in aid of handball club.
