AGM: Oylegate Youth Club re-opened after the summer break with their AGM in Oylegate Hall on Friday Night 10th September. Over 50 county medals were presented by guest speaker Fr. Cogley. We have almost 90 members in the Youth Club for the coming year with 30 supervisors.

The following officers were elected; Chairperson; Siobhan Nolan, Vice-Chairperson; Annie Hayden, Treasurer; James Hayden, Sec. John Lambert, Assistant Sec. Séan Parker Committee; Ellie O'Connell, Patrick Cullen Shane O' Connor, Nicole Byrne, Bridget Mernagh, Liam Powell, Michael McNulty, Mairead Heffernan, Diarmuid & Daniel Neville. Following the AGM, Parents, Supervisors and Members enjoyed refreshments. Youth Club There will be no youth club in Oylegate hall on this Friday evening October 1st.

Disco: Members of Oylegate Youth club will travel to Taghmon for a disco on this Friday October 1st. Bus will leave Glenbrien at 8.30pm and Oylegate at 8.40pm. The supervisors for the evening are Siobhan Nolan, Tony White, Johnjo Murphy and Caroline and Lorraine Kinsella.


Oylegate/Glenbrien GAA club are holding a golf classic on Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of October at St. Helen's Golf Club. Team of four is €120. Time sheets are now open and contact 053 9138194 for further details. Lotto: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot held on Wednesday September 15th in the Slaney Inn Oylegate. The next draw will be held on Wednesday evening September 29th in Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate for a jackpot of €12,000. Tickets cost just 2euro each every fortnight, and can be purchased from the G.A.A. Club. All support would be greatly appreciated.


Please note mass times: Glenbrien: Saturday vigil mass at 7.30pm Sunday morning mass at 9.30am Oylegate: Saturday vigil mass at 6.30pm Sunday morning mass at 10.30am.


The above group meet every Wednesday morning in Oylegate National School from 9.20am to 10.45am for children from birth to five years old. There is no charge and parents/guardians supervise their own children. New members are welcome.


An anniversary mass will be held in Piltown on Saturday October 2nd at 6.30pm for the Late Nathan Blackmore. Nathan was a former pupil of Oylegate National School.

As part of the Cheerios Childline Breakfast together week , a coffee morning in aid of Childline will be held in Mernaghs Lounge Oylegate on Thursday 7th October commencing at 11.00am. All Support would be greatly appreciated . A great prize of a family pass to the Cheerios Panto Beauty And The Beast in Dublin is to be raffled on the morning.
