COISTE NA NÓG AGM
The annual general meeting of Oylegate/Glenbrien Coiste na nÓg was held on Thursday evening last in the clubhouse. Seamus Walsh was selected as chairman and Eamon Mernagh as secretary for the coming year.
Managers selected for the coming year are as follows: under-8's - Eoin Murphy, under-10's - Keith Whelan, under-12's - Graham Rowley, under-14's - J. Shanahan, under16's - Eamon Mernagh and minor - Michael Heffernan.
The coiste na nog will hold a table quiz on Thursday January 20th at 9.00pm in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate. It will be general knowledge based and a table of four is €20. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Crossabeg/Ballymurn Ladies Football club are holding a Dinner Dance on Saturday 29th January in The Ferrycarrig Hotel. Tickets at €25 are available from committee members. A fantastic night was had last year we hope for an even better night this year.
Please note mass times: Glenbrien - Saturday vigil mass at 7.30pm Sunday morning mass at 9.30am; Oylegate - Saturday vigil mass at 6.30pm Sunday morning mass at 10.30am.
Anyone wishing to enrol their child in Oylegate National School for September 2011, please call to the school for an application form between 9.00am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
OYLEGATE VINTAGE CLUB
Dates of event for the coming year include: Road Run on May 15th; Field Day on June 20th; Threshing/Working Day on September 25th.
HOUSE OF STORIES
Another great night was had in The Glenbrien House of Stories this Wednesday night despite the weather and small crowd. We would like to thank anyone who helped out or participated on the night and for the past year.
We had a free raffle on the night and the following people were winners on the night: Paddy Jordan, Castledockrell; Ger Healy, Glenbrien; Tommy Leacy, Oulart; Myles Moran, Rathgarogue; Teresa Gordon, Oylegate; Pat Murphy, Rathgarogue. Thank you very much and we hope to see you all again in 2011.
A very big thank you to all the parents who took part in the carol singing on Christmas Eve despite the bad weather. It was lovely and we are looking forward to a bigger and better event next year. The Parents Association would like to wish everyone health, happiness and peace in 2011. We hope to see you in the New Year.
Congratulations to Caitríona Brosnan, Oylegate and Anthony Doyle, Glenbrien who were married recently in Glenbrien. We wish them every blessing for their future together.
