There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of 6,400euro held in Mernagh's lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday April 13th. The next draw will be held on Wednesday April 27th in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate for a jackpot of 6,600euros. Tickets cost just 2euro each available from club members.


Best of luck to the senior hurlers when the play St. Martin's in the championship on Saturday next in Wexford park at 7.00pm.

Under 8's Training: Under 8 training will be held every Sunday in the field form 11.00am to 12noon.

Féile: Congratulations to the under 14 hurlers who won the county division 2 of the Féile in Oylegate/Glenbrien GAA grounds on Saturday last against Gusserane.

Well done to all the lads as they won all their games on the way to the final. Model County Development Tickets: Model county development tickets are on sale from any committee or club member. The tickets cost 50euro each for three draws that will be held in April, May and June. Parishioners are asked to purchase tickets from the local club and to support them please.

Club Membership: All GAA club memberships are due in at the moment, all players are asked to please pay their membership to their respective managers as soon as possible, if you dont pay your membership you cant play.

Oylegate/Glenbrien Camogie Club: Oylegate/Glenbrien camogie club is now open for the new season. Girls of all ages are welcome to join.

Training details for all ages are as follows-Under 8's and under 10's on Tuesday evenings at 5.30pm, under 12's on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6.00pm, under 14's on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6.15pm, under 18's on Sunday at 11.00am and intermediates on Monday and Friday evenings at 7.00pm. Glenbrien community and surrounding areas were deeply saddened to hear of the recent death of Billy Redmond, Ballinastraw Glenbrien. His remains were remove to Glenbrien church with internment to the adjoining cemetery following his funeral mass. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife, sons, daughters in law, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace.


Our local architects, OLS Architects, are taking part in a charity event in aid of the Simon Homeless Community. The event takes place on Sat & Sun, 7th & 8th May 2011.

Organised by the RIAI, architects give their time and expertise for free to members of the public and every single cent raised goes to the charity.

The public can sign up by donating €50 to the charity in exchange for an hour consultation with OLS Architects, or any other architect taking part.

Join in at any time on the day to pick up rubbish along the roadside. If the time or date doesn't fit then pick a day to do your bit!

The Hope Cancer Support Centre seeks volunteers to meet and greet people, offer a cup of tea and a listening ear when needed. Do you have a few spare hours a fortnight, do you have good interpersonal skills and a kind heart. Full training provided. Thanks to everyone who helped to organize the Easter Egg hunt and the visit form Secret Valley, for the children, which was a great success. The story telling will take place in the community hall in Ballymurn on Wed 27th April at 7.30. In aid of the old school restoration fund. Tickets are five euro each and tea and refreshments will be served, everyone welcome to come along.

Crossabeg/Ballymurn Ladies Football training times U8s and U10s will resume training on Wednesday 6th April 5.30pm6.30pm in Ballymurn Pitch, U12s and U14s Wednesday 6.30pm-7.30pm, U16s and Juniors Wednesday 7.30pm-8.30pm, registration night is on Wednesday 6th at 7pm please bring your membership form and fee, Gaelic for mothers football training will start on Tuesday 5th April 7.30pm8.30pm in Crossabeg Pitch all are very welcome.


A table quiz will be held on Good Friday night April 22nd in Glenbrien national School at 8.45pm. A table of four cost 20euro. All proceeds from the night are in aid of the Glenbrien Handball club. Donations of buns and prizes for the raffle would be greatly appreciated.
