NOTES FOR THE PAPER

YOUTH CLUB

There will be youth club in Oylegate hall on this Friday evening April 29th from 8pm to 10pm and the supervisors for the evening are Celia Nolan, Seamus Whelan, Bridget O'Neill, David/Sarah Parker and Chris O'Connell.

ALL-IRELAND FINAL

Well done to Orla Quirke who put a great performance in the recent All Ireland final.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €6,400 held in Mernagh's lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday April 13th. The four lucky dip winners were Anne skerritt, Elizabeth Doran, John Wall, and Mylie Cullen. The next draw will be held on Wednesday April 27th in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate for a jackpot of €6,600. Tickets cost just €2 each available from club members.

CHARITY EVENT

Local architects, OLS Architects, are taking part in a charity event in aid of the Simon Homeless Community. The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th May. Organised by the RIAI, architects give their time and expertise for free to members of the public and every single cent raised goes to the charity. The public can sign up by donating €50 to the charity in exchange for an hour consultation with OLS Architects, or any other architect taking part. Last year places filled quick, so get signed up soon.

MICHAEL DORAN

Oylegate community and surrounding areas were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Michael Doran, Coolnaboy, Oylegate on Sunday April 17th. His remains were removed to St David's Church on Monday evening and internment to the adjoining cemetery followed 2pm mass on Tuesday. Deepest sympathy is extended to his son, daughters, inlaws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning will be held on Thursday May 5th at 11am in Mernaghs Lounge Oylegate in aid of the tidy towns committee. All support would be greatly appreciated.

OYLEGATE NS

Oylegate N.S are collecting Tesco Tokens, if anyone would like to donate theirs to the school we would be very grateful.

THE STORY TELLING GROUP

The story telling will take place in the community hall in Ballymurn on Wednesday 27th April at 7.30pm in aid of the old school restoration fund. Tickets are €5 each and tea and refreshments will be served, everyone welcome to come along.

JACK AND JILL FOUNDATION

The pupils of Holy Family School are collecting phones for the Jack and Jill foundation and phones can be dropped into the school at any time.
