Pettitt's Supervalu honoured for promoting local suppliers

Pettitt's SuperValu in St Aidan's Shopping Centre in Wexford have managed to scoop the prestigious Best Local Champion award at the annual Checkout 'Best In Fresh' awards.

The management at Pettitt's were delighted to received the award which really cements SuperValu's commitment to delivering an unbeatable fresh food range while supporting Irish suppliers.

The awards ceremony, hosted by Checkout Magazine, recognises retailers for their outstanding contribution to fresh food retailing across the store. The judges were extremely impressed with Pettitt's, saying: 'You can't walk five yards down an aisle at Pettitt's SuperValu at St Aidan's, without encountering an array of products from a local supplier, supported with company information and tasting notes. It's a tour of the best suppliers in the south east - without having to leave the supermarket.'

Speaking of the award, Cormac Pettitt of Pettitt's SuperValu said: 'We believe in local and helping to sustain local communities is so important in Ireland today.
