There will be a church gate collection in aid of the Dyslexia Association on Saturday and Sunday, April 3 and 4. The association meets in the CBS Wexford on Wednesday evenings between 5pm -7pm. Contact Peter at 087 7462758


The March meeting was held in St Martins Community Centre on March 16. All members were present and President Joan Furlong welcomed everybody. As it is the 100 year of the ICA ceremonies will be taking place in Bree on May 7. The official ICA stamp will be issued in April to mark the centenary. Mary Crotty won the competition for the oldest coin. Mary also won the raffle. Tea concluded the meeting.


Thanks to all who came and supported the coffee morning in St Martin's Centre for Elaine O'Connor's Volunteer Trip. The amount raised was ¤736. The winners of raffle prizes were Sarah O'Connor, Barry O'Connor, Trudie and Kevin Power, Martin Quigley, Mattie O'Gorman, Ciara Quigley, Joe O'Connor, Imelda Goodman, Ciara Howard, Joe O'Connor, Jack Roche and Ellen Coleman - the prizes were mainly wine, chocolate, a book voucher, a bag, a painting and two hampers.


St. Martins girls/ladies footballers are having a bag packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores this Thursday, Friday and Saturday to help alleviate some of the costs of running the club this year. It would be very much appreicated if every parent, player over 16 and mentor got involved or anyone who is interested in helping here as we need all the help we can get. Adult Spring league is at concluding stages. All matches to be played and results in by Thursday, April 1, for scheduling of Semi-finals


Training has resumed for all age groups and are as follows: U10 and U12 on Thursday, 5.45pm - 6.45pm; U14 on Monday, 5.45pm - 6.45pm; U16 and Junior on Mondays and Fridays, 7pm - 8pm. Registration now due.

The Annual Field Day this year will be organised by the Piercestown Scout & Guide Groups in Johnstown Castle on May 23 at 2pm. We will have the usual stalls on the day, bottle stall, wheel o fortune, bottle fishing, Wellie throw and lots more, so keep this day free for a great day out in the beautiful Johnstown Castle grounds.


Spicial Olympics Ireland will be holding a national fundraising collection in Wexford on Friday, April 23. We are looking for volunteers to assist us with this collection. Anyone with a few hours to spare and would like to help out with this worthy cause please contract Peadar Dempsey on 087 9818419.


The Model County Draw is once more under way. All the clubs in the county depend on this draw for the day-to-day running of the club. St Martin's are no exception and in the coming weeks club members will call to you for your support. It is important that you join with your own club as 80 per cent of tickets sold by each club goes back to the club. There are 3 drws of ¤20 per draw or ¤60 total. Two cars each draw and 60 prizes. Looking forward to your continued support.


The Community Games area swimming finals for Murrintown/Piercestown area (including Rosslare, Our Lady's Island and Kilrane) will be held on Saturday, April 10, at New Ross Swimming Pool at 5.30pm sharp. All over 8s are invited to come along and take part in a fun children's race on the beach at Rosslare at 11am on Bank Holiday Monday, April 5. Run in conjunction with the 10k adult race organised by Wexford Triathlon Club, the meeting point is the carpark at Rosslare Strand and all children are asked to be there by 10.45am. Afterwards there will be face painting, a bouncy castle and a party for all the children.
