PIERCESTOWN

SPANISH CLASSES

Spanish Lessons run every Sunday for 10 weeks in Scout & Guide Hall at 7pm – 8.45 pm with Favio Leanaires.

YOGA CLASES

Yoga started on Wednesday 15th September for 8 weeks with Mary Duane, Yoga Teacher from 6 – 7.30pm. Bring belt and blanket, and mat if you have one.

ICA GUILD

The ICA held their first meting in St Martin Centre, aftr the summer break, on Tuesday 14th September. Joan Furlong opened the meeting and attended to all the correspondence. It was a very well attended meeting.

Five members are to attend Federation meeting in Kilmore. Officers for the coming year are : President Mary Crotty, Secretary Anna Mahon, Treasurer Marie McNeigh, PRO Emma Sane. Oil Painting classes resume on the 4th October at 8pm in St. Martins Centre.

ALL IRELAND WINNERS

The O'Duffy Cup will be in St. Martin's Centre next Friday night at 9pm. Everyone is very welcome to come along and see the All Ireland Cup. This will be a great opportunity to have your photograph taken with the cup and meet some of the players who brought such glory to Wexford.

PITCH & PUTT

The Pitch & Putt Tournament in aid of Wexford Special Olympics Club and St. Martins Cois nOg was held on Saturday 18th September in Killane Castle Course. A great day was had by all and results are as follows:1st Pat O'Connor 56, 2nd Peadar Dempsey 57, 3rd John Sinnott 57, Beaten Back 9 4th Peter O'Brien, 5th Jack Roche 59, 6th J.P. 60.

The organisers would like to thank all the sponspors of the tees and the greens, and especially the sponspors of the pitch & putt prizes and the raffle prizes and look forward to next year for our second tournament. Thanks to Colm Mernagh and family for the kind use of the pitch & putt course and their kind generosity. I would also like to thank all the helped out on the day and the amount raised was €1,235. Hopefully Brian and Alison will get great enjoyment from their raffle prize!

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The Friends of the Severly and Intellectually Disabled would like to thank the people of Piercestown for their generosity in the recent church gate collection which raised the sum of €276.71.

GOLF SOCIETY

St Martins Golf Society are holding their final outing in Rosslare on 9th October - more details next week.
