PIERCESTOWN

SCHOOL BAZAAR

Due to the bad weather the School Bazaar date has changed from the 5th to the 12th December and will be held in St Martins Community Centre at 2pm.

COFFEE MORNING CHANGE

Coffee Morning in the Scout and Guide Hall has been postponed until after Christmas as a result of the bad weather. Looking forward to seeing everyone after Christmas for this event.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

The Piercestown/Murrintown Christmas party has been postponed until after Christmas because of the bad weather.

The money raised in the Quiz in Larkins and in Jordans amounted to €1557.00. Sincere thanks to the Sponsors, Jordans, Larkins, Richie Kehoe, Hanrahans Shop, Imelda Kehoe, Shaws, Richard & Mildred, Sharon Whelan, Drinagh Garden Centre, Bernie Codd. Also thanks to all that attended on the nights and helped out with the quiz.

CHRISTMAS GOLF OUTING

Don't forget the St. Martins Golf Society turkey shoot is now rescheduled for Saturday 11th December in Rosslare 12 hole. Tee Time 10.30a.m. and presentation of prizes in the club house bar that night and also AGM 9.30pm sharp.

ST MARTINS LOTTO

ST MARTINS AGM

The St. Martins AGM will take place in the Centre on Friday 10th December at 7pm.

PEACE LIGHT OF BETHLEHEM

Scouting Ireland Dublin are bringing a 'Peace Light of Bethlehem' to Ireland in December and Piercestown Scout and Guide Groups have accepted their invitation to host this light in our County. The light will be brought to the 10 am mass on Sunday 19th Dec by young member from each group. We are delighted to be part of this country wide event which is taking place all over Ireland that weekend in various parishes and cities. We will then attend the locally organised Cancer fundraising morning at the St Martins GAA centre after mass on 19th.

TESCO BAG PACKING

Piercestown Scout & Guide groups are seeking parents and friends to offer their help for their Christmas Bag Packing fundraising event on Wed/Thurs 22/23 December in Tesco Wexford. Please do come along for an hour any time between 11 am and 9pm and help to raise funds for our newly built Scout & Guide Community Hall in Piercestown. Contact Anne Rochford. Thank you for your continued support.

INVESTITURE

The Cub Investiture will take place on Tuesday 14th December in St Martin's Church Piercestown followed by the Scout Christmas Draw in the Scout/Guide hall after mass and refreshments served.

BEAVER COLONY

The 25th Wexford Piercestown Group are still enrolling boys 6 – 9 years into the new Beaver Section which will open in January 2011.

We have adults who have applied and are ready to attend the first Training course – Welcome to Scouting which will be held on Monday 13th December. We would be delighted to welcome more adults into our group for cub and scout sections also.
