Planning permission was lodged with Wexford County Council for the proposed development at our parish school this week. This project, which will significantly enhance and expand the current school facility, is expected to be operational for the school year 2013/14. During the building phase the existing two pre-fab classrooms will continue in use and the existing CEP/Parish Office pre-fab will also be required for school purposes.

The transfer of the CEP Office to its new location in Bree Community Centre will be completed this week.

Planning permission has also been lodged for proposed works at the Parochial House. The Parish Finance Committee will enter detailed consultation with parishioners before seeking Diocesan approval to advance this project.

His Excellency, Archbishop Charles Brown, Papal Nuncio to Ireland will preach the opening sermon at this year's Pligrimage to Our Lady's Island which will take place on Wednesday 15th August at 3pm.

The Pilgrimage holds a special place in the tradition and mission of the diocese - and indeed the country - and the presence of the Pope's representative to Ireland at this year's pilgrimage emphasises its importance and significance. The opening ceremony is open to all and you are most welcome to come and share the Eucharist with us on the day.

Congratulations to the U15 Table Quiz team who took 2nd place at the All Ireland Finals in Limerick on June 30th. The team members were Rachel Cahill, Sophie Forte, Ciara Howe and Laoise Rodgers. Well done also to Lucy Doyle who took part in the National Final of the Youth Work Ireland's Youth Factor. She gave a stunning performance of "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera.

Well done to all concerned.
