Thanks to everyone who supported the Rosslare Strand A.F.C quiz night last Friday. The club is very grateful to Theresa O'Reilly who ran the night so successfully. Also we thank our prize sponsors on the night Jack O'Reilly, Jimmy Delaney, Redmond's 'The Bay', Centra Rosslare Strand and Tesco.

Rosslare Strand A.F.C Ladies, captain Emma Kehoe, picked up the 'Player of the Year' award at the weekend. The award marked a great season for Emma, who made the centre half position her own through some excellent performances in partnership with her other centre half Danielle Long as well as Amanda Buggy and Louise Jeffers, both at full back. Emma also found time during the season to score her debut goal for the club, pouncing on a loose ball from a corner in an away victory over Cloughbawn. The club congratulates Emma on her achievement.

Also congratulations to two of our youngest players Josephine Scallon, aged 17, and Niamh White, aged 16, who shared the Top Goalscorer of the Year award. Niamh's haul included an excellent hat-trick at home to Carnew which single-handed rescued a point for the team. These girls will be two soccer stars of the future here in Wexford.

All the money is now in and a big thank you to all who helped and participated. A special mention for Teresa Kelly who collected over ¤1,700 which is a massive amount – we can not find words to adequately recognise this effort which she makes year after year. Long may it continue. The total amount raised was ¤6,950. thank you all.

Last Saturday our U10s travelled to Duncannon in the league. They lost 1-0 to a very good Duncannon side. A man of the match display from goalkeeper Michael Lacey insured that the Strand only conceeded once. Our U14s had a home fixture against Adamstown who are challenging for honours in this division. A Conor Clancy goal gave the Strand an early lead but Adamstown equalized before half time. In the second half the away side took the lead only for a Conor Clancy header from an Andrew Bent cross insured the Strand collected a well deserved point.
