Science festival gets foundation grant

Wexford County Council has been given a research grant of €35,000 from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) to help deliver the WexSci Science Festival which is due to take place from November 11 to 18.

The money will be used to organise and deliver the week-long festival which will be held in conjunction with National Science Week(NSW). The NSW initiative is being managed by SFI along with 12 partner organisations including Waterford & Wexford Education and Training Board, IT Carlow (including Wexford Campus), Local Link Wexford, Taghmon and Raheen Family Resource Centres, and School Completion Programmes in Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Gorey, Bridgetown and South West Wexford.

The initiative is also being supported nationally by Bord Iascaigh Mhara.
