TAGHMON/ CAMROSS

CAMROSS DRAMA

The cast and director of 'The Factory Girls' are to be found almost every night in the Old School, Caroreigh rehearsing diligently. The production will be staged in The Stanville hotel on Thursday and Friday April 8 and 9 at 8pm, Fethard on Sea parish hall on Saturday April 10 at 8pm, Carrig on Bannow Community hall, Thursday April 15, 8pm and Wexford Opera House on Saturday April 17 at 8pm.

The group are searching for an old filing cabinet and lots of old shirts that might be on the way to the refuse sack are also required, if you have any to offer contact Breda Banville at 087 9270327.

GREAT NIGHT'S DANCING

The Man with the Golden Trumpet Johnny Carroll is on his way to Camross Hall on Fri. 9th April and his fans await a great night's dancing. Johnny, the man with the golden trumpet, is certain to draw a huge crowd with dancing from 10pm to 12 midnight. Admission is ¤10.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Our Junior ladies had their first outing for 2010 on Sunday evening last when they travelled to Bunclody to play in Division 2 of the league. The management team had a reduced panel to choose from due to work committments and injuries, but the girls present gave of their best but were not able to overcome a strong Bunclody outfit. All age groups are presently in training and the ladies will play their next game in early April.

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Parents wishing to enrol their children in St. Garvan's NS, Caroreigh, for September 2010 are requested to contact the school on (053) 9134294 for an enrolment application form. Completed forms must be returned by Friday, March 26.

BADMINTON

The Juvenile Co. Championships will be held on the 2nd of April 2010 At The Astra Active Centre Enniscorthy. U11/15's at 10 a.m. U13/U17's at 1 p.m. Entry Fee ¤4 per event. U11/U13 will play Singles/Doubles. U15/U17's will play Singles//Doubles/Mixed. Closing date March 25. Failure to pay means failure to play.

GAA CLUB NOTES

Results: Taghmon Camross Senior Team got their league campagin under way against local rivials, Glynn Barntown on Sunday 7th March, with a final score line of Taghmon Camross 0-04 Glynn Barntown 0-15. Their second game on Friday night last under lights in Taghmon, against St. Mary's Rosslare, achieved a better result with the home team winning on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-07. It was great to see Jason McLoughlin back playing in his fimilar position in the full forward line after a long lay off due to injury.

The Junior Team also have two games played, beating the Volunteers B in their first game, 0-09 to 0-05, and they were defeated in their second game against Crossabeg Ballymurn, 308 to 1-10.

The club would like to wish a speedy recovery to both Johnny Waters and Tony Kent, both suffering with serious injuries.

Match Fixtures: The Hurling league gets under way this weekend, we are playing in Premier C Grade, and our first opposition is Gusserane away on Saturday 20th March at 5.00pm.

The GAA Club wish to congratulate Camross Drama Group on their recent award at the Rehab People of the Year Ball. A truely deserved award, for all the hard work, dedication and professionalism that this group put into their productions.

Scor: The Novelty Act will contest in the Leinster Final on Sunday 28th March.

The club extends deepests sympathies to the Dunne and Banville on their recent bereavements.

SOUTH EAST TOPS

The South East Tops are now entering the closing stages, and excitement is building to see what two groups will go head to head in the Grand Final which takes place on Friday March 26.

There are only two more groups stages to go, Friday March 19 sees Our Lady's Island and Tinryland, and on Monday March 22 Kilmore and Our Lady's Island both take to the stage for their final performances, with the two finialists being announced that night. There are a limited number of tickets still available for both nights please contact Margaret Nolan for further information.

BREAKFAST MORNING

Breakfast morning in the Commuity Center Club House Bar on Sunday 21st of march from 9am to 1pm in aid of Taghmon Tops Group, Hope to See you all there .
