TAGHMON/ CAMROSS

DANCE FOR AWARE

All roads will lead to Camross Ballroom on Friday 5th October where Tesco, New Ross will hold a dance for Aware, their charity for 2012. You can dance the night away to Theresa and The Stars, enjoy the Tea, all for just €8. We hope to see you there.

ICA AT THE PLOUGHING

Wexford federation of ICA have an action packed programme at the National Ploughing Championships from 25th to 27th September. Workshops include: Embroidery, Pottery, Patchwork, Butter Making. Lace making, Hair Care, Weaving, Beauty and Make Up, Crochet, Spinning, Card Making, Knitting to name but a few. Demonstrations and Talks include: Flower arranging, Crime prevention, Bee keeping, Basic First Aid, Geopathic Stress, Hair care and wear, The Occassional Hat, Cookery demo each day, Pottery, Gardening and Gael Linn.

The ICA history book, '102 years of Wexford ICA' will be launched on Tuesday 25th September at 11.30am by Liz Wall, National president and Woman's Way will give demonstrations twice daily. The Federation will present cheque for Breast cancer research on Thursday 27th September at 11.15am. You will find the ICA Marquee in Block 1, Row V, stand 731, come and visit us.

UNDERAGE SOCCER

Our underage girls have played 3 friendly matches over the last week. The U12s played twice beating an under strength Kilmore team 6-2 on Wed night, they then followed this up with a 4-0 win over Corach Ramblers on Sat last. The U10s played there first match of the season during the week drawing 1-1 with Forth Celtic. Parents of boys interested in playing U9s are asked to contact Podge Hore on 085 7672062 as the club are trying to assertain if it is possible (depending on nos) to facilitate the boys at this time.

COISTE NA NOG

Fixtures: Friday 28th September, Minor F/Ball Div 4 Semi Final Tag/Cam v Kilmore in Horeswood at 8.15pm; Tuesday 2nd October, U14 FB Div 2 Final Tag/Cam v Vols in Patricks Park at 8pm.

Results of All Ireland Football Raffle: 1st Prize - Two Football All Ireland Tickets and an Overnight stay in Dublin - Declan Clarke 2nd Prize - ¤75 - Aidan Doyle 3rd Prize - ¤25 - Dearbhla Dunne. Thank you to all who supported the raffle and to all who the attended the draw in the clubhouse bar.

GALA CONCERT

There is a Gala Concert at St. Fintan's Taghmon on Sunday 30th September at 8pm. The following artists are performing: The Reverend Tenors,with Eanna Mc Kenna,The Valda Choir, Lorna Mahon, Tomas whelan, Barbara Walsh &Co. John & Anita Cullen, Carroreigh Folk Group, Vicki Barron and Taghmon School Choir. Tickets are €10 each and are available from any Parish Committee member or can be purchased on the night.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Taghmon Community Games with the assistance of Sports Active Wexford are hosting a come and try activities evening in the community centre Taghmon at 6pm on Friday 28th September. This is for boys and girls from age 10 to 15 years. Come along and try your hand at Community Games activities such as skittles, badminton, basketball, rounders, tag rugby and the athletic field events of long jump and shot putt. Healthy refreshments will be served on the night and the event is open to all children from our parish. So come along and get involved with your local community games area.

CASTLE VINTAGE CLUB

The Castle Vintage Club annual Dick Williams Memorial Tractor Run takes place on Sunday 7th October leaving Taghmon Community Centre. FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE Counselling: If you would like to make an appointment please call Trish on 087 7719984.

MONDAY MORNING WOMEN'S GROUP: Crafts continues weekly with Bridget Kennedy from 10.30am to 12 noon and new members are always welcome

WEDNESDAY'S WOMEN GROUP: This group is for women of all ages who are interested in positive well-being. This week after a great workshop with Stephanie on feeling positive the focus is on looking good and Nicola from Beauty Within is on hand to accentuate our eyes! If you would like any further information please contact the Centre or come along on Wednesday at 10.30am. Cost is €5 per week.

THE MEN'S SHED: Meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. If you are a man over 18 years old and have any questions or an interest in joining contact Ray atthe Centre on 053 9134465. The Men's Breakfast Club meets on Friday mornings from 9.30am to 12 noon. New men are always welcome to join.

COMPUTER TRAINING: Beginners Internet and Email - 3 spaces available for the free 4 week course. Please contact the Centre to book your place.

DIY FOR WOMEN: This course will cover all aspects of DIY, taps, plugs, fuses, tiling, hinges, shelves, flat pack assembly, water pipes etc. Starting on Thursday 27th September from 7-9pm for 8 weeks. The course will cost just €30.

COOKERY FOR MEN: This class is for men who would like to learn some basic cookery skills. Class will take place on Monday evenings from 1st October from 7.15-8.45pm for 8 weeks and will cost €25.

WOODCARVING FOR MEN'S SHED: This class will take place in the Menb's Shed on Wednesday afternoons and will initially be a 6 week pilot project. Contact Ray at the Centre for further information.
