TASTY TREATS may not be good for us but on this occasion it seems they may have done some good!
The proceeds from a cake sale at the Wexford Educate Together School were presented to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul on the request of a group of civic minded students.
All of the students at the school participated in the fundraiser. They baked cakes and created beautiful handmade crafts at home and brought to school where they traded their wares with other students and parents.
A cheque to the value of €200 was presented by the students and Principal Maria Redmond to Mary Redmond , a representative for the Society of Saint Vincent den Paul.
Staff at the school explained that the students selected the charity of their own accord after learning about the need to help those struggling within the community.
