Watch raffle as time ticks down to charity climb of Kilimanjaro
KILIMANJARO-BOUND Wexford jeweller Frank Hynes is raffling an expensive ladies watch to raise money for St. Gabriel's Children's Ward in Wexford General Hospital.
Frank picked the children's ward as the beneficiary of his planned mountain climb, at the suggestion of his friends Bernard and Emma Wadding whose three year old son Ben died in March.
Ben who was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour, was looked after with loving care by staff at St. Gabriel's when he was undergoing treatment.
Frank is preparing to climb Kilimanjaro in October and will be paying his own expenses so that all money raised will go to the hospital.
He is raffling a gold ladies Longines watch valued at €3,825 as one of his fundraisers. A total of 500 tickets at €10 each or three for €25 will be sold.
The tickets are available in his jewellery shop on the Main Street.
