Ciara Donovan and Brendan Conlon
Forget tiaras and diamonds, the must have accessory at one recent Wexford wedding were giant sunflowers!
On the day when Killeens girl Ciara Donovan wed her Northern man, Brendan Conlon, she insisted that the theme of the day would incorporate her favourite flower.
The twist on the traditional bouquet went down a treat.
The couple, who met five years ago when Brendan moved from Belfast to Wexford for work, tied the knot at Clonard Church in front of 200 family and friends.
The Conlon clan were well represented with over 90 family members who made the trip down south for the big day, but there was one extra person travelling home as the groom's cousin Oral Smyth gave birth to a baby girl called Caoimhe on the Sunday. Bride Ciara jokes that the Belfast contingent have named the baby 'The Little Strawberry'.
Proud father of the bride noted that after the ceremony his kind and considerate daughter and her new husband weren't in any great hurry to get to the reception at Whites Hotel.
Instead they made a diversion to Corish Park to visit Ciara's grandmother. Mrs. Donovan was not able to attend the wedding but still got the chance to see her granddaughter in her white dress.
The wedding was of course the second big occasion for the Donovan in a matter of days. Ciara's sister Melissa McCormack who had just given birth to a baby girl called Annie had the new arrival christened just the week before.
This meant that their brother Patrick had a busy visit home from New Zealand with both a christening and wedding to keep him on his toes!
