€100,000 winner to buy diamonds - and cement!
WINNER IN NATIONAL LOTTERY CHRISTMAS DRAW
A WEXFORD MAN collected a cheque for €100,000 at the National Lottery office in Dublin on Friday and his plans range from diamond rings to an American holiday to putting down concrete in the back yard!
The lucky man was collecting his prize won in the Millionaire Raffle drawn on New Year's Eve. He purchased his ticket in Railway News at Redmond Square in Wexford town.
The Wexford man who collected his €100,000 prize wishes his win to remain a private one. He is married and revealed the following plans: 'I intend purchasing Prize Bonds for €20,000; buying a big diamond and a nice outfit for my wife'.
'She said she'd love to get the back yard concreted, so we'll do that too. And I feel that America is calling: I'd like to visit California and Arizona later in the year, when I get the chance,' smiled the happy winner.
This latest jackpot marks the third year running that Liz Butler, from Railway News, sold one of the top winners in the New Year's Millionaire Raffle Draw.
The ticket was part of the special annual Christmas Millionaire Raffle which was drawn before a live studio audience on RTE. Two €1 million tickets were sold in Ballincollig in County Cork, and Waterford.
