€100m of civic building projects

AN ESTIMATED €100 million worth of civic building projects is currently either in the pipeline or under construction in County Wexford.

The projects include the new County Hall in Newtown Road Wexford on which building work will be finished on September 30; Gorey Civic Centre and library which will open at the end of October; New Ross swimming pool for which contracts will be signed soon; New Ross fire station which is at the pre-design stage; Wexford public library which is due to be finished at the end of May 2011; a new cemetery in Enniscorthy which will be completed in three months; the continuing refurbishment of Enniscorthy Castle and the planned refurbishment of New Ross library.

The County Manager Eddie Breen told the chairman Cllr. Michael Sheehan that the estimated total cost was set at €100 million, although the figure may now be a bit less.
