€114,000 settlement for under-declaration of tax
A WEXFORD woman has settled with the Revenue Commissioners for a total of €114,644 arising from an under-declaration of income tax.
J0000000000oan O'Keeffe of Lynwood, Newtown Road had to pay the Revenue €44,447 in tax and €74,197 in interest and penalties.
Ms. O'Keeffe's name is published in a list of settlements from around the country which were made during the period October to December 2009.
The income tax was in respect of rental income and arose from an under-declaration. It was also described in the listing as a 'Revenue single premium insurance products case'.
During the same period, two County Wexford people were prosecuted for failing to file VAT returns.
Patrick Quigley, a plasterer of Harristown, Barntown was fined €600 in relation to once charge while Ciaran Stenning, River Lodge, Larkinstown, Cooltree, a grocer and newsagent was fined €15,000 on three charges.
In another Revenue Commissioners case at the end of last year, Peter and Damien Foley Transport Ltd. of Boderan, Ramsgrange, New Ross was fined €2,500 arising from once charge of the Misuse of Marked Mineral Oil.
