16-year-old teen arrested in connection with fatal hit and run released without charge
A 16-year old teenager who was arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run has been released without charge.
Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns at approximately 10.30pm on January 12, 2015 arrested a 16 year old male in connection with the incident. He was arrested on Friday, January 23, and detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
He was released without charge on Sunday, January 25 and a file is prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
81-year-old James Brennan died in the two car collision and his female passenger was seriously injured. The occupants of the second car fled the scene prompting a large garda search.
