€18,000 rates bill
A WARRANT for over €18,000 has been granted to Wexford County Council after a successful application was brought against property owners for commercial rates.
The application for a decree of county rates was brought against Robert Flynn, Owen O'Shea and John Bradshaw, c/o Breen's Inn in Carrig-on-Bannow.
Rate Collector Donna Cullen explained to New Ross District Court that €18,031.90 was due in commercial rates for a public house for 2008, 2009 and 2010. Ms. Cullen added that she has been speaking with John Bradshaw since December and they last spoke on March 14 when the defendant agreed to send on money, however the council received nothing and were now seeking a warrant for the rates.
