€2,000 cash and laptop are taken from car

TOURISTS visiting Wexford Wildfowl Reserve found themselves heavily out of pocket after thieves struck while they were looking at the flora and fauna.

Gardai said raiders broke into the couple's Jeep and caravan while they were parked at the reserve on Thursday.

A laptop and €2,000 in cash was stolen.

In another theft from a motor vehicle, gardai apprehended a thief after he was disturbed while breaking into a car in Ferrybank on Tuesday.

And on Friday, bank cards and various other documents were stolen from a car in the Faythe.

Gardai renewed their appeals for people not leave valuables in parked cars.
