€2.6m disability funding
Funding of €2.6m is to be made available in County Wexford for housing adaptation grants relating to older people with disabilities.
The money will be used for the purchase and installation of things like stair-lifts and ramps in addition to necessary home renovations.
The Department of Housing will be providing €1.732m while Wexford County Council will contribute a further 20 per cent.
Commenting in the grant scheme Minister Paul Kehoe said the funding is aimed at making the homes of elderly people more comfortable to live in: 'Older people with disabilities living in Wexford will benefit from these Housing Adaptation Grants.'
