€300,000 in funding for local groups

WEXFORD County Council is to allocate funding to the tune of €300,000 to support local community groups throughout the county.

The project set to receive the highest level of funding is the National 1798 Centre, which is expected to be allocated €20,000. The Irish National Heritage Park and Wexford Festival Opera are both are set to receive €15,000.

Other community projects expected to receive funding are: Duncannon Fort Trust, St. Michael's Theatre, Wexford Arts Centre and 'Gathering' 2013 €10,000 each. Hook Heritage €6,500, Dunbrody Festival €6,000, New Ross Piano Festival and the Rehab People of the Year Awards €5,000, the St Patrick's Day Parade in Wexford €4,500, Byrne Perry School and New Ross Marina €4,000. Fethard Castle and the St. Patrick's day parades at Gorey, New Ross and Wexford €3,000, Gorey Community Development Group €2,000, County Wexford Community Games, Adamstown Agricultural Show, Enniscorthy Agricultural Show and Gorey Agricultural Show €1,000 and Bunclody Horticultural Show €500.
