€800 of cannabis
A STASH of €800 worth of cannabis herb was for her own use, accused 19-yearold student Shauna Murphy insisted at the District Court last week.
The defendant's address was given as 25 Commodore Barry park, Rosslare Strand, but the drug came to light in a drawer on November 8 last at Ballynaglogh in Cleariestown.
Judge Gerard Haughton was told that Murphy had embarked on four-year degree course at the Wexford campus of Carlow IT. Her father was in court as she assured the judge that she was now free of drugs.
The judge observed that the amount of cannabis was an 'awful lot' of the drug for personal use before adjourning to September 17 for a probation report.
